Tigard Christian Church

You may have questions about what Sunday Mornings look like at Tigard Christian Church.  Here is what you can expect to see and experience when you join us.

Dresses, slacks, jeans, shorts . . . there is a wide variety of clothing styles seen each week; comfortable and casual pretty well describes what we wear.

There are greeters ready to meet you at the door and help you find your way around.  Our information desks are also staffed to help answer your questions, and are located at the main doors. This is also a good time to join us for a cup of coffee or tea in our SonRise Café. 

Our services normally start with a time of music, led by our band and vocalists.  This will generally include guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards.  We sing a variety of songs including traditional hymns as well as worship songs by contemporary Christian artists like Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, and Darlene Zschech.

You will meet friendly people in our medium sized community of worshipers . . . part of the way through the service, there is a time to meet some of the people near you, but you won’t be singled out as a visitor.

Our services include communion, a time for Christ’s followers to remember Him as He instructed us (Matt 26:26-29).  We also will collect an offering, but as our guest you are not expected to participate. 

What about kids?  We have full programs during both services for infants through kindergarten, as well as children’s classes during the 9:15 service for 1st through 5th grade students.  Please check with the information desks for assistance in finding the appropriate rooms. At our 11:00 service, 1st  -5th graders are dismissed from the service to attend a more child-friendly lesson during our sermon time. Also, many people like to keep their young children with them during the service.  They are welcome, but you may want to choose a seat where you can get out easily in case you need to take them out of the service.

6th grade through College students may want to check out MERGE (downstairs) during the 9:15am hour – MERGE is a time of contemporary worship music and classes geared to youth.
