Question of the Week   Print  E-mail

Periodically we are going to set out a question of the week that is based on the Sunday sermon.  This past week our question has been: "“What have you learned in the struggle in overcoming the flesh in your Christian walk?"

Our hope is that you will chime in periodically and add some thoughtful comments to help us all grow to maturity in Christ.

I've learned that focusing on the forgiveness that I have in Christ allows me to both get past the despair and depression that I could sink into, and to have a reason to continue to fight.

I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law but my body wages war against my mind to make me a prisoner of the law of sin. If I focus on my own inadequacies, guilt, fears etc.. I am just sliding into a whirlpool of darkness. Only Christ sets me free. Only by His grace and mercy have I been invited into his presence. I am his beloved child. What an incredible gift!

I have found talking with others that we have a hard time excepting Gods grace and forgivness. I have to remind myself everyday that that I am worthy. When my friends share their concerns I want to remind them to accept his gift too. Just think of it as a toy that comes with your hamberger.
