Making Disciples Who Love God and Love Others
Making disciples who love God and love others is the mission which we believe God has called us to as individuals and as His church. This mission is based on the words of Jesus that can be found in Mark 12:30-31 and Matthew 28:18-20. In those scriptures Jesus makes it clear that we are to be loving God, loving others, and sharing the hope that we have in Christ with others. The Apostle Paul worded it in another way in his letter to the Corinthians, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” (I Corinthians 11:1) As a community of believers we realize that we are not perfect, but we are striving to follow Christ and His example. We hope that others will see what it means to follow Christ in how we live our lives, the words we speak and all that we do.
Christianity is all about relationships, our relationship with God and our relationship with others. God didn’t design us to be by ourselves, but He created us to be in relationship with Him and others. Here at TCC we believe that relationships are important as we live the mission of making disciples who love God and love others. In fact we believe the way that we become a follower of Christ and grow in our relationship with Him is through relationships with others in small group Bible studies. In small groups we see that people connect with each other, connect with God through His word and have the chance to take the mask off and be real with each other. While we hope that you will come and worship with us on Sunday mornings, we also hope that you will get plugged into the community and join a small group here at TCC.
